- As an engineering aide, you perform a variety of support duties to ensure the safe and proper construction of buildings and other structures. Your duties are to plan a schedule for the project, assist with cost estimation, and do surveying on the job site to ensure all information is as accurate as possible. With this information, your employer may expect you to create architectural drawings, supervise the departmental library, and supervise other employees and contractors during the construction process.
