Job Summary

The EMSTEEL Condition Monitoring Technician is accountable to carry out condition monitoring services on all

rotating equipment on a day-to-day basis as identified within the condition monitoring program. This involves the

application of a wide range of monitoring techniques including vibration monitoring lube oil analysis

thermograph measurements and machinery performance monitoring. Types of equipment include electrical

motors gear boxes centrifugal pumps steam turbines centrifugal compressors fans & blowers turbo

expanders and fan coolers. Carries out predictive maintenance vibration monitoring and analysis and provide

information and basic recommendation for corrective action as and when required

The EMSTEEL Condition Monitoring Technician must possess an unquestionable reputation for integrity
ethics and personal values.
Carries out vibration monitoring service for all rotating equipment as scheduled.
Uses a variety of special and modern equipment; machinery data collector accelerometer tachometer and
specific softwares; AMS Machinery Heath manager / RBMware etc.
Carries out vibration testing of new machinery for acceptance during startup and commissioning phase.
Collects dynamic vibration data motor solo run / coupled run from main rotating equipment its auxiliaries
and balance of plant equipment during start-up and commissioning phase of new plant facilities. Same to be
followed on running machines during steady state operation of the plant.
Collects vibration data from all rotating equipment using hand held portable data collector.
Collects lube oil samples from all main equipment lubrication systems for monitoring and analysis. Visual
inspection of lube oil to be done and abnormality reported.
Makes routine visual checks to ascertain any machinery fault by feel sight or sound. Notifies concerned
personnel of any malfunctions

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required.
An understanding of Condition Monitoring and the role it has in Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
Basic technical skills related to plants rotary equipment.
Special knowledge is desirable on Condition monitoring machinery analyzers.
Basic PC skills with knowledge in MS Word Excel Power point MS Outlook is required
Capability of identifying problem in the plant.
Good Physical health.
Fair working knowledge of written and spoken English

Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in
Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).

2 years formal courses in technical / engineering
discipline.

5 years of experience as condition monitoring
technician in a steel plant.

Working experience of Bently Nevada / CSI / SKF /
IRD
PC based On-line & Offline Condition
Monitoring systems (Hardware & Software).
