About the role:
The role holder is responsible for managing and driving sales for the store through efficient store operations visual merchandising customer service delivery motivation and retention of store personnel in adherence to GMG norms. The job holder is also responsible for managing and coaching the store team.
Core Responsibilities:
Communicate store targets to the team and drive sales to achieve financial objectives
Maintain loss prevention standards and ensure compliance with cash handling fraud and theft controls
Oversee all point-of-sale activity: transactions customer orders and payments returns and refunds inventory updates and customer feedback
Manage cash transactions including petty cash POS cash and change floats
Audit store administration regularly resolve issues and support annual stock counts and spot checks
Handle customer complaints and feedback promptly and professionally taking corrective action in line with policy
Track brand sales performance research market trends and competitor activity and propose action plans to grow sales and profitability
Analyze sales reports to maximize stock potential and report on new and core collection performance
Maintain window and in-store displays to a high standard in line with merchandising guidelines
Oversee inventory management: stock availability ordering back-store management stock movement stock ageing stock loss and space management
Coordinate with the facilities team on repairs and replacements and support maintenance standards to extend asset life
Plan staffing levels schedules and shift coverage factoring in seasonal peaks and promotional events
Train the team in inventory techniques including receiving stocking restocking transfers and resolving discrepancies
Self-Management:Set clear objectives and performance targets with team members aligned to organizational goals
Mentor guide and coach the team to build skills operational efficiency and continuous improvement
Apply structured performance management to monitor progress troubleshoot issues and deliver periodic KPIs
Give regular feedback and build a results-oriented environment that supports individual and team growth
Develop leadership pipelines and succession plans within the team
Take ownership and accountability for personal and team outcomes making timely sound decisions
Lead the team through change with agility resilience and a problem-solving mindset
Collaborate with the Area Manager Brand/Category Management Warehousing and Logistics Visual Merchandising and Marketing teams
Qualifications / Skills:
Bachelors degree in any discipline
5-7 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a similar supervisory role in retail operations
Fluent English written and spoken; Russian and/or Arabic is an added advantage
Industry expertise and product/category knowledge
Strong customer orientation
Proficiency in MS Office and tools
Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to influence and align teams to business goals
