SENIOR DATA CENTER INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - SAUDI NATIONAL

Sr. Data Center Infrastructure Engineer will support the day-to-day technology operations of our client mission critical data centers. He will be responsible for installing and configuring enterprise class technology hardware, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, maintain change control process in the data center, and support 3rd party vendor activities.

DUTIES ANDRESPONBILITIES:

1. Design and implement data center infrastructure: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing data center infrastructure, including server racks, cabling, and cooling systems, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
2. Manage and maintain data center hardware: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining data center hardware, including servers, storage devices, and networking equipment, to ensure their availability and reliability.
3. Implement and maintain data center security: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining data center security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access controls, to protect against security threats and breaches.
4. Monitor and optimize data center performance: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for monitoring data center performance and making recommendations to optimize performance and efficiency, including capacity planning and resource utilization.
5. Perform backups and disaster recovery: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a system failure or other emergency.
6. Document and report data center operations: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining documentation and reports related to data center operations, including system configurations, performance metrics, and security logs.
7. Collaborate with other IT professionals: A Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer must work closely with other IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and security professionals, to ensure the smooth operation of the data center environment.

QUALIFICATION

1. Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required, although some employers may consider candidates with an Associate's degree or equivalent work experience. A Master's degree in a related field is also preferred by some employers.
2. Work experience: Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineers typically have 8-10 years of experience working in data center operations, network administration, or system administration. This experience should include experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data center infrastructure, as well as experience with networking, storage, and security systems.
3. Technical skills: Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineers should have a deep understanding of data center infrastructure technologies, including server hardware, storage systems, network architecture, virtualization, and security. They should also be proficient in operating systems, such as Linux and Windows, as well as scripting languages, such as Python or Perl.
4. Certifications: Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineers should have relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), or other industry-standard certifications.
5. Soft skills: Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineers should have strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as they will be responsible for managing and collaborating with a team of data center professionals. They should also have the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
