Security Manager

Role: CAD Designer / Design Engineer

Salary: 35k per annum - negotiable

Location: Nelson

25 days holiday + bank holidays + overtime

Our client is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the drawing and projects department of a manufacturing company based in Nelson. Due to continued growth they now require an experience CAD person to join their design team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years CAD experience in industry and have a good level of using AutoCad or Solidworks/Inventor or ideally AG Cad.

Duties:

Produce and update detailed drawings and diagrams in accordance with the latest procedures and recognised industry codes and standards.

Revise drawings

Liaise with, provide support to the production and management team regarding drawings

Produce 2D & 3D drawings

Ordering parts and components from the supplier

Managing the design process from initial sketches through to designs, setting up BOM s, (Bill of Materials), sample building, testing and prototyping

Previous design experience within sheet metal industries

Experience & Skills:

Essential to be an experienced CAD Designer / Engineer.

User of AG Cad would be a distinct advantage, though AutoCad, Solidworks, Inventor would also be advantageous.

Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing or sheet metal company.

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Good working knowledge of materials (metals) and their specifications, finishes and joining techniques (fasteners, welding, etc.).

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work on own initiative (unsupervised) to strict deadlines.

MUST be able to drive / car owner due to location
