SAFETY OFFICER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly qualified Safety Officer to join our team and ensure the highest standards of Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) are maintained at our workplace. The Safety Officer will play a critical role in implementing and monitoring safety protocols to prevent accidents injuries and health hazards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure compliance with all applicable HSSE regulations standards and guidelines to create a safe and healthy work environment.
2. Conduct regular inspections of premises equipment and work processes to identify potential hazards unsafe conditions and nonconformities.
3. Collaborate with department heads and employees to develop and implement effective safety policies procedures and emergency response plans.
4. Provide training to employees on safety protocols hazard identification risk assessment and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
5. Investigate accidents incidents and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections incidents training sessions and safetyrelated documentation.
7. Oversee the safe handling storage transportation and disposal of hazardous materials and substances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives through regular audits performance metrics and feedback mechanisms.
9. Liaise with regulatory agencies contractors and other stakeholders on safetyrelated matters and ensure timely reporting of incidents as required.
10. Stay updated on industry best practices emerging trends and regulatory changes in occupational health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.
• NEBOSH Level 3 certification or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in occupational health and safety preferably in a highrisk industry such as construction manufacturing or oil and gas.
• Proven track record of implementing and managing safety programs policies and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of relevant HSSE regulations standards and guidelines (e.g. OSHA NEBOSH ANSI).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in conducting safety inspections risk assessments incident investigations and safety training sessions.
• Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
• Certification in First Aid CPR and Fire Safety preferred.
