We are seeking a New York based Front Office Market Data Engineer to join our Institutional Services - MIS in Global Technology & Operations.
Team/Group Description
The Front Office Market Data group is responsible for the procurement, engineering and implementation of market data services to support of the firms trading activities. Covering both real-time and end-of-day pricing feeds, we collaborate closely with the firm s sellside trading group to support their market data needs. The team has three core functions: business relationship management, technical delivery and support, and market data administration
Role Description
The front office market data engineer is a key role for our firm providing best execution for our clients for electronic trading in a low latency environment.
Applications And Business Or Enterprise Functions The Role Supports
This role will operate on the trading floor along with algorithmic trading group to support Sellside portfolio and algorithmic trading business. This role will engineer and support consolidate market feeds, raw market data feeds and reference data related to trading
This group manages low latency raw market providers, low latency market data feed handlers and consolidated market data providers.
Key Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Procure, engineer, and support low latency raw market data and consolidated market data feed to support global trading.
- Integrate market data with order management system and algorithmic trading applications globally
- Coordinate with exchange driven changes with vendors and internal infrastructure team
- Day to day support, monitoring and trouble shooting

Qualifications, Experience, Education
- BA/BS in computer science or network major
- 5-7 years experience with market data within financial services firms
- Hands-on experience with Bloomberg managed bpipe, Exegy or other raw market data providers

- Extensive trading related market data knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication, presentation and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Vendor management and negotiation skills
- Proven project management skills
- Strong client focus, experience collaborating with Traders is preferable
- Working knowledge of network and firewall considerations related to market data distribution
- Basic Unix Server Administration and scripting skills
- Ability to work off-hours and on weekends on occasion
