About the Client
Our client is a leading international compressor technology and services company supplying engineered components and field service solutions for reciprocating compressors across the oil & gas petrochemical refining and power sectors. They are bidding on a major site overhaul and are looking to secure an experienced mechanical team ahead of mobilisation.

Role Overview
Working as part of the clients field service team the Mechanical Technician will carry out overhaul inspection and repair of reciprocating compressors during a major site overhaul ensuring the work is completed safely on schedule and to OEM standards.

Key Duties

• Dismantle inspect repair and reassemble reciprocating compressors and associated equipment
• Overhaul compressor valves piston and rod assemblies packing rider/piston rings crossheads and bearings
• Carry out dimensional checks clearance measurements and wear assessments recording results accurately
• Perform alignment (laser or dial) bolt torquing and tensioning to specified procedures
• Identify defects and report findings to the Site Supervisor or Lead Engineer
• Support pre-commissioning start-up and run-in checks after the overhaul
• Complete job packs inspection sheets and handover documentation
• Follow site permit-to-work isolation and HSE procedures at all times

Requirements

• Trade qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors including major overhauls or turnarounds
• Proven experience with compressor valves packing pistons rods and running gear
• Competent with precision measuring tools alignment techniques and torque/tensioning equipment
• Experience on oil & gas petrochemical or refinery sites
• Able to read technical drawings OEM manuals and maintenance procedures
• Valid safety certifications (e.g. H2S BOSIET/relevant site passports as required)
• Good written and spoken English
• Available to mobilise at short notice and work shift patterns during the overhaul

Desirable

• Previous field service experience with a reciprocating compressor OEM or specialist compressor service company
• Experience in GCC or international shutdown projects
• Familiarity with compressor diagnostics or condition monitoring
