About The Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Material Transportation Supervisor will lead the team to perform safe, and reliable operations, maintenance, and administration of the transportation team, responsible for the movement of materials (residue) from the storage area to rail containers and trucks as well as the maintenance of all vehicles associated with those operations. The timely movement of the materials are critical to the efficient operation of the site.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all administrative, logistical, and human resource matters within the transportation team (i.e., scheduling, payroll, performance management, purchasing, etc.)
• Hiring, training, evaluating, and developing transportation staff
• Developing comprehensive training and qualification matrices and documents for all transportation equipment and implementing a development program to cross-train team members on each piece of equipment
• Documenting and maintaining training qualifications in line with regulatory policies for all transportation equipment including CDL Trucks, heavy equipment and etc.
• Executing capital improvement projects related to vehicles, site roadways, transportation, trash management, and residue management
• Managing plant equipment spending within budget
• Developing effective preventative maintenance programs for transportation equipment and ensuring compliance to preventative maintenance programs
• Developing daily, weekly, and monthly work processes for equipment maintenance and housekeeping and ensuring compliance to those processes
• Communicating potential reliability risks to the appropriate site personnel in a timely manor and driving solutions to reduce those risks
• Working with external resources (railroad, maintenance contractors, haulers, etc.) to optimize schedules and maximize efficiency
• Reporting out daily to internal and external customers on material movement
• Operating with a keen focus on continuous improvement and driving productivity
  

Position Requirements:

• This position requires an individual having at least seven (7) years of progressive experience in material handling activities and at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Preferred hands-on experience and ability to operate tractor trailers, wheeled front-end loaders, and various bridge cranes as there may be occasional times where this role is required to assist the team by operating one of the aforementioned pieces of equipment.
• Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Candidate must be a strong leader with the ability to effectively drive performance and lead a team to a common goal.
• Candidate must be willing to take on additional responsibilities as directed by facility management.
• CDL strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Candidate must have the ability to work from heights, work in extreme temperature conditions, lift up to 50 pounds, and climb ladders.
