Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Laboratory Manager to lead our gemological testing operations within the IT Services sector. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of diamond and colored stone evaluation ensuring the highest standards of scientific accuracy and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives in quality assurance manage complex laboratory workflows and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This position is critical for maintaining our reputation for precision in gemstone grading and analysis directly supporting business growth through reliable data and robust quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise laboratory personnel fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and high-performance team dynamics.
- Oversee the execution of scientific analyses ensuring all testing protocols adhere to strict validation standards and measurement uncertainty requirements.
- Lead decision-making processes regarding complex technical challenges and operational bottlenecks to ensure seamless laboratory functionality.
- Manage the Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) ensuring full compliance with ISO standards and leading the closure of any identified nonconformities.
- Conduct and facilitate internal and external ISO audits preparing comprehensive documentation and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Validate and optimize testing methodologies to maintain the integrity of results across all gemological procedures.
- Execute precise grading and testing for diamonds and colored stones guaranteeing accuracy in every assessment.
- Monitor overall laboratory performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance productivity and quality outcomes.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in laboratory management or a related scientific field.
- Proven expertise in team leadership including the ability to manage diverse teams and drive operational excellence.
- Strong background in scientific analysis with specific proficiency in gemstone grading and the testing of diamonds and colored stones.
- Deep understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems including the ability to navigate ISO audit processes and resolve nonconformities effectively.
- Demonstrated capability in decision-making and problem-solving within high-pressure technical environments.
- Knowledge of testing method validation measurement uncertainty and the technical nuances of gemology.
- Compensation package is competitive ranging from 30 Lakhs Per Annum and above commensurate with experience and expertise.
