About Our Client

This business is driving improvements across all areas of the business but are investing heavily in their HSE strategy. As the Interim HSE Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting operational teams in embedding behavioural safety and ensuring consistency across sites.

Job Description

This role gives you the chance to work closely with the site operational teams, promoting and encouraging best practice across the region. As the Interim HSE Manager you will be overseeing a cluster of sites across the Midlands & South regions, ensuring the business continues to move forward on their Health, Safety & Environmental journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the senior management team to deliver a Health & Safety Strategy.
  • To work with the operational team in the maintenance of an environmental standard; establishment, implementation and maintenance of ISO14001 alongside other management systems.
  • To promote the use of the system and develop the Health & Safety culture as in conjunction with the senior management team.
  • To consult and liaise with the Managers and Directors on changes to the system and the effects of the system on the business.
  • To take part in the activities of the Senior Team and be a fully functioning member of that team.
  • To introduce other compliance related systems and project work as required by the organisation.
  • To communicate all Compliance issues to the wider company to drive best practice.
  • Ensuring legal compliance, mitigating environmental risk & monitoring compliance to current legislation
  • Recommending improvements across the business.
  • Advising on legislation changes when necessary.
  • Maintaining the existing HSE system & suggesting changes in order to improve it further
  • Liaising with the personnel & management to promote Health & Safety way of thinking
  • Providing, recommending or requesting training in matters relating to Health & Safety and/or Environmental matters

The Successful Applicant

A HSE specialist available at short notice with first-hand experience of managing health & safety within multi-site manufacturing or distribution operations. The successful applicant will have:

  • NEBOSH (Diploma ideally but Certificates will be considered)
  • ISO 14001 & 45001 experience
  • Experience recommending & supporting in the implementation Health & Safety improvement plans
  • The ability to work with a multi-disciplined team in order to champion a HSE aware workforce
  • The ability to drive consistent improvements across multiple sites
