Job Description

- Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines.
- Supervises the work done in Hematology department by technicians including quality control protocols – both internal & external.
- Provides a strategic approach in diagnosing hemolytic disorders where in detailed and step wise diagnostic tools are implemented to arrive at a diagnosis.
- Provides further techniques like special stains, cytochemistry, polarizing or Immunofluoroscent or electron microscopy if needed and if available in improving his diagnosis.
- Performs discussions with the referring clinician if required to help in his diagnosis.
- For the benefit of the patient, he might volunteer for a second opinion by a person specially trained for the purpose or his peers in improving the quality of diagnosis
- Regularly participates & contributes to the CME programs, accreditation programs, clinical audit programs, department related purchase policies, action plans of the department and similar.
- Focuses on patients with diseases of the blood and lymphatic system.
- Diagnoses and treats anemia, blood clots, blood cancers and other bleeding disorders.
