ICT Technician
Job Summary
1. GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation preventive/corrective maintenance troubleshooting and performance monitoring of ICT ELV telecom security AV and related systems within the Student Accommodation Project. The role ensures system availability reliability timely fault resolution and proper coordination with specialist vendors and service providers.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain MDF/Server Main Telecom GSM Security Equipment and IDF Rooms.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ICT/ELV systems and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot passive and active network systems including copper/fiber cabling and network equipment.
- Maintain Wi-Fi telephone internet TV/IPTV TV signal and digital signage systems.
- Maintain CCTV access control security AV automated payment and related systems.
- Respond to breakdowns alarms and service requests and restore systems promptly.
- Conduct fault diagnosis root-cause analysis testing and corrective actions.
- Maintain equipment asset registers maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with OEMs specialist contractors telecom operators and service providers.
- Ensure systems operate in accordance with approved procedures specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Install configure maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware software applications operating systems printers scanners laptops mobile devices and network equipment.
- Perform server administration tasks including backup management database maintenance data recovery and system monitoring.
3. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of ICT ELV networking structured cabling and telecom systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings network diagrams and equipment documentation.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Good communication coordination and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns and emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of testing tools and network diagnostic equipment.
- Good computer skills and ability to maintain maintenance records.
4. HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Comply with all project/company HSE policies procedures and safe working practices.
- Use appropriate PPE and approved tools and equipment.
- Follow permit-to-work isolation access and emergency procedures where applicable.
- Ensure safe working conditions in Server Telecom MDF IDF and Security Equipment Rooms.
- Report unsafe conditions incidents and hazards immediately.
- Participate in toolbox talks safety training and emergency response activities.
5. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain professional conduct and good housekeeping in all technical areas.
- Complete assigned maintenance activities within the required schedules and SLAs.
- Maintain accurate daily weekly and monthly maintenance reports.
- Protect company/project assets and maintain confidentiality of technical information.
- Coordinate effectively with Operations IT Security FM MEP and other departments.
- Support inspections testing commissioning audits and handover activities.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management within the scope of the role.
6. EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Telecommunications Information Technology Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Typically 35 years of relevant O&M experience in ICT ELV telecom networking or similar systems.
- Experience in residential student accommodation hospitality commercial or large-scale building projects is preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications in networking structured cabling security or ELV systems are an advantage.
- Practical experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of ICT/ELV systems is essential.
