High School English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language a deep understanding of literature grammar and writing instruction and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning critical thinking and a love for reading and writing.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the schools curriculum and educational standards.

• Teach English literature composition grammar and vocabulary to students in grades 912.

• Foster a classroom environment that encourages participation creativity and academic achievement.

• Assess student progress regularly through assignments tests presentations and class participation.

• Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate academic progress with parents/guardians.

• Prepare students for standardized tests and college readiness assessments.

• Incorporate technology and diverse teaching methods to enhance learning.

• Participate in faculty meetings professional development sessions and school events.

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance grades and performance.

• Uphold school policies discipline and ethical guidelines.

• Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field (Masters preferred).

• Valid state teaching certification/license for secondary English.

• Proven experience teaching high school English (minimum 2 years preferred).

• Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.

• Familiarity with digital learning platforms and modern educational tools is a plus.

• Knowledge of diverse literary texts and current pedagogical practices.

• Ability to teach AP English Literature or AP Language (if applicable).
