Hybrid House Manger/Butler Vancouver, BC

Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced hybrid House Manager/Butler for a semi-formal residence in Vancouver. The successful applicant will interfaces directly with the Principals, their families, and guests, and serve as their key-point-of-contact; in anticipation and execution of their service needs and real time requests. This hybrid role also provides individual assistance, butler responsibilities, and most importantly, manages the day to day operations of the Family and the Residence. This role is a collaborative and hands-on position and will work closely with the Principals housekeeper, kitchen personnel. This position is full-time, live-out or live-in based on the candidates preference. A typical work week is Monday to Friday, 8am 5pm (with lunchtime). Flexibility outside of this schedule will be required as needed. If live-out, weekend availability is required for any emergency or events.

Candidate Profile:

You are an experienced and well-rounded House Manager/Butler who enjoys keeping a clean and organized home. You love to troubleshoot. You have a strong understanding of household management. You have a do what it takes attitude and have a calm and collected approach when things dont go as planned. You are comfortable both in managing staffs and working within a team; always a polished ambassador for the family.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be familiar with Residence mechanical, entertainment and security systems
  
• Ensure all systems are in good working order as well as household security protocols are followed
  
• Performing walk-throughs and inspections of the Residence to assess any required maintenance or cleaning tasks is expected
  
• Prepare, maintain and update operating and standards manuals for the residence
  
• Schedule and supervise trades and vendors for residence maintenance, repair and renovation
  
• Assist with the ordering, purchasing and maintaining of household inventories
  
• Assist with errands and family requests
  
• Assist with event planning and execution including food and beverage service
  
• Family time & Social & Travel itineraries, facilitation and calendar management for the family
  
• Greeting guests and visitors and ensuring their comfort during their stay
  
• Weekend availability for troubleshoot as required
  
• Long-term employer-employee relationship cultivation is preferred
  
• Pet care (dog) assistance

• Be a self-starter with an anticipatory, service-oriented disposition
  
• Must possess excellent time management skills, be punctual, courteous, possess keen attention to detail and follow through on all tasks and projects assigned
  
• Capable around technology and able to quickly learn new applications or software as needed
  
• Must possess a strong work ethic and understand invisible service
  
• Must be a team player able to motivate and work with staff to ensure a positive outcome
  
• Must have a sense and respect of boundaries, exercise diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
  
• A drivers license and clean driving record is a must
  
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
