Operations Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing and directing all manufacturing functions in accordance with customer requirements, company policies and
- Responsible for overall coordination and communication of production
- Review production schedules and ensure maximize throughput and
- Establish goals, performance targets, and performance standards for the production
- Ensure accountability and discipline within the production department; motivate supervisors and employees to achieve peek productivity and
- Chair daily cross functional meetings between
- Attend weekly meetings: metal purchasing review, staff, operations, key metrics, program launch and any other meetings requiring production
- Develop and analyze production and plant
- Interact with customers and
- Work with HR on manning issues and
- Provides direction, development and leadership to Shift Superintendents and Production
- Conducts performance reviews on direct
- Promote, monitor, and ensure a safe work
- Comply with all safety and environmental policies and
- Participate in special projects as needed or assigned by
- Maintain a clean, organized
- Drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the Drive waste elimination and cost control through advanced use of LEAN tools and OEE, FPY, MUI, 5S, TPM/AM, Standard Work,
- Supervisory Reponsbililty: Shift Superintendents, and supervisory Overall indirect responsibility for several hundred direct operators and indirect support
- Work environment:This job operates in a professional office environment; with a heavy and continuous level of work on the manufacturing floor where exposure to seasonally hot and humid conditions, dust, noise and other elements will
- Physical Demands: Sitting/computer work 70%, Walking, bending and climbing 20%, Fine manipulation skills 10%
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in engineering, management or related field preferred or equivalent years of
- Strong heavy manufacturing background- automotive industry experience
- Excellent communication skills writing, speaking, listening and observing
- Ability to understand goals and objectives and convert them into action plans, tasks, initiatives and activities that ensure success
- Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment
- Strong demonstrated supervisory experience with a track record of cultural change and building of front line supervisory
- Strong analytical skills, ability to gather, interpret and analyze information, provide clear
- PC-based computing experience word processing-Word, spreadsheet-Excel, presentation- PowerPoint,
- No travel requirements
