US Extracurricular and Leadership Project Advisor:

As a Crimson Extracurricular and Leadership (ECL) Advisor youd be working with students to strategize and develop a personalized leadership project that demonstrates their interests ingenuity and initiative. The leadership project is a vital component of their college application process. The core responsibility of an Advisor will be to guide and mentor the student on how to execute their Capstone Project. Advisors will also guide students with the scalingup of their Capstone Projects as well as ensuring their projects are impactful within a community.

Our advisors are paired on a studentbystudent basis with the control to accept or decline students as the mentors schedules allow. This provides our advisors with abilities to manage their schedule around other commitments. The minimum hours required is 5 hours per week and advisors are obligated to remain with students until their project has come to a close. Allocations are made on the basis of subject compatibility meaning that you will be working with students hoping to pursue a project in an area similar to your own expertise. Popular project types and subject areas include:

• Nonprofit/community service

• Entrepreneurship/Startups

• Computer Science

• Engineering (mechanical electrical chemical etc)

• Physics

• Biology and Medical Sciences

• Law

• Performance Theater and Fine Arts

If you have a skillset a strong educational background or professional profile that matches the above areas and you have a passion for education and mentorship youd likely be a great candidate for ECL Advising! Additional qualities of an ideal ECL Advisor include strong project management and organizational skills ability to work remotely and independently withan attention to detail and fantastic written and verbal communication skills.

Service Expectations:

As a provider of the standard ECL Service you will be expected to provide students with guidance and support as it relates to their capstone leadership projects. Core responsibilities include:

• Supporting students with development and ultimately submitting a Capstone Leadership Project Proposal and Completion Form
  

• Developing a project management plan for your students capstone leadership project and conducting biweekly to monthly sessions aligningwith your own scheduleto aid the student in the execution of the project

• Remaining with paired students until completion of their project.

• Liaising with the ECL Admin team and the student Strategist to ensure that the students capstone leadership projectis on track and their experience is satisfactory

Compensation

The starting rate for standard ECL mentorship is dependent on your previous professional experience and expertise as well any educational experience one can bring such as having completed your own topcollege application. You will be paid for the session time you spend with your students. Please note that a standard one hour session will also include approximately:

• 15 minutes of preparation time

• 10 minutes filling out a session summary

• A potential 1015 minutes of follow up or research on behalf of your student
