DHA Sonographer
Job Summary
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Conduct a range of ultrasound scans including abdominal pelvic thyroid soft tissue and vascular studies where applicable.
- Ensure high-quality image acquisition for accurate diagnostic interpretation.
- Recognize and document abnormal findings and escalate appropriately to the supervising physician or radiologist.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and ensure images are properly archived in PACS/EMR systems.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for ultrasound examinations.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Maintain patient dignity privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Monitor patients during procedures and ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained calibrated and functioning optimally.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues promptly.
- Maintain proper infection control and sterilization procedures for ultrasound probes and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to DHA regulations clinical protocols and radiation safety standards where applicable.
- Participate in quality assurance programs audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain required professional licensing certifications and continuing medical education (CME).

- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Valid DHA License as Sonographer (mandatory).
- Minimum 23 years of ultrasound experience preferably in outpatient or diagnostic center settings.
- Experience with abdominal thyroid and general ultrasound imaging preferred.
- Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems.
Required Skills:
Essential Right to work in the UK available to start immediately. Previous experience in a healthcare clinical or patient facing support role. Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check. Up to date immunization record including Hepatitis B. Strong communication skills and a calm professional manner with patients. Comfortable working flexible shifts to support clinic opening hours. Desirable Level 3 NVQ or Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Phlebotomy or venepuncture certification. Training can be arranged for the right candidate. Experience in diabetes metabolic health or a private healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic patient record systems. Role Scope & Boundaries The Healthcare Assistant owns patient preparation observations support room readiness and day to day coordination with reception and clinicians. This role does not make clinical or diagnostic decisions which remain with the treating clinician and does not set clinic policy or compliance standards. Any change to clinical protocol or patient safety procedure must be reviewed and approved by the clinical lead before it is used. The Healthcare Assistants early experience on the ground is expected to inform how future clinical support roles are structured as the London site grows without this role owning that hiring or structure decision. Where patient data or confidentiality questions arise the final call sits with the clinics designated compliance and privacy lead not with this role.
