Derivative Operations Manager

Charterhouse is working with a large, global Commodity Trading company who is looking to recruit a Derivative Operations Manager for their growing Dubai office. Our client delivers bulk commodities to more than 40 countries and has offices in 20 countries worldwide, which is evidence of their impressive global footprint.

The Derivative Operations Manager will be involved in a combination of operational and statistical responsibilities, and will be focused on ensuring that all executed derivative transactions are captured in ERP and allocated correctly.

This role will be responsible for developing a cash Value at Risk model, providing a verified deal list to middle office and risk teams, as well as providing cash flow forecasts to treasury team.

The Manager shall act as an additional control on behalf of middle office, risk and treasury teams to ensure that cash limits and VAR limits are maintained. This also relates to having the ability to effectively navigate any changes in the market conditions, regulations and technology.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate should have an excellent understanding of statistics, particularly VAR calculations and volatility models. Our client will aim to hire someone who has experience in derivatives markets as operations analyst or trader positions in a commodity or a financial company.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a very detailed method to the work, and a commitment to operational excellence in derivative activities. Candidates who have experience with SAP, ION Aspect or IMOS will be preferred.
