Cost Control Engineer

Al Madina Agencies & Services LLC, a reputable firm in the Oil and Gas industry, is seeking a Cost Control Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role plays a critical part in overseeing the financial aspects of mechanical projects during the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a cost control system based on the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).

- Establish baseline budgets for mechanical packages, including equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.

- Track actual expenditures, committed costs, and Value of Work Done (VOWD) against approved budgets.

- Monitor Value of Work Done using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure progress against financial spend.

- Collaborate with project teams to analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.

- Prepare regular reports on project financial performance for management review.

Requirements & Skills:

- Minimum 8 years of experience in cost control within mechanical engineering projects.

- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking principles.

- Proficiency in using cost management software and tools.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Ability to work in both onshore and offshore project environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Professional certification in cost management.

- Experience with EPC projects in the oil and gas industry.
