Commis II

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
• Follow recipes and instructions provided by senior chefs to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation.
• Contribute to the cooking process in various kitchen stations, such as grilling, sautéing, or baking.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Provide support to chefs in different kitchen stations as needed.
• Assist in the coordination of tasks to maintain an efficient kitchen operation.
• Manage and organize ingredients to ensure they are readily available for cooking.
• Monitor and replenish stock to avoid shortages during busy periods.
• Adhere to proper storage and labeling practices.
• Follow recipes accurately to produce high-quality dishes.
• Ensure that cooking times, temperatures, and measurements are precise.
• Seek clarification from senior chefs when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to maintain a positive working environment.
• Collaborate with chefs and sous chefs to meet kitchen goals and standards.
• Contribute to a cohesive and supportive team dynamic.
• Follow safety protocols, including proper food handling and storage. Report any safety concerns or issues to senior kitchen staff.
• Prioritize tasks to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes. Manage time effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
