Essential Responsibilities:

• Establishes and monitors care standards and makes recommendations for changes in area of clinical Collaborates with nursing staff in assessing patient, family age-specific nursing needs and develops plan of care for complex high-risk
  
• Evaluates the effectiveness of the care
  
• Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to nursing staff in program Develops interdisciplinary plans of care for complex and high risk In conjunction with members of the health care team, assesses staff knowledge and identifies competency-based education needs of staff and
  
• Designs and implements education programs to ensure the quality of staff knowledge and Introduces new techniques/innovation based on advanced practice May serve as a preceptor to graduate healthcare
  
• Provides consultation to physicians, nurses and other health care providers in meeting care needs of individual or groups of patients in both outpatient and inpatient
  
• Makes recommendations to change standards of care or standards of practice based on own research or the research of
  
• Defines and implements best nursing Assists in interviewing staff and provides input into evaluations regarding clinical competence and provides coaching and

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in area of clinical specialty
  

Education

• Bachelors degree
  
• Masters degree in a clinical field of nursing or a clinical field related to nursing including but not limited to psychology, public health, social work, education, health sciences, behavioral sciences, nutrition, and bioethics from a nationally accredited masters/post masters nursing academic
  

License, Certification, Registration

• Current California RN license by date of
  
• Clinical Nurse Specialist certification by the California Board of Registered Nursing by date of
  
• Current BLS certificate
  
• May require a Natl Provider Identifier (NPI) if needed for Clinical Nurse Specialist prior to date of
  

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical Nurse Specialist experience
  
• ACLS or PALS Certification
  

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience Minimum two (2) years of experience as charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion or other related leadership Education Graduate of accredited school of High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) License, Certification, Registration Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire Basic Life Support Additional Requirements: ACLS, PALS, NRP certification may be required for positions in specific Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, & Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission & other federal, state, & local regulatory Strong interpersonal communication Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in nursing ACLS certification strongly
