Our client leading petrochemical Company in Saudi Arabia is hiring a:

Chief Scientist, Urea (Saudi Arabia)

Minimum Experience:Masters + 15 years or PhD + 10 years on Technology Development, Plant Support, Modeling and Optimization

JOB PURPOSE:

.

An Olefins and Aromatics Process Technology Expert responsible for separation optimization, process system engineering covering process synthesis, process design, process modeling and simulation, process integration (e.g. pinch analysis), optimization, techno-economic and sustainability analysis of new processes.

.

Develop strategic thinking based on specific industry insights, knowledge, and a depth of experience for Olefins and Aromatics based petrochemical businesses to develop, build and operate best-in-class facilities.

.

Mentor project leaders/ team for planning, prioritizing tasks and execution of technology projects using statistical based modeling and six sigma approach. Maintain up to date knowledge in the area of Olefins and Aromatics technology advancements and timely advise senior management, technical project leaders, programme managers and other scientists on the feasibility and applicability of technology solutions.

Support Olefins and Aromatics business in evaluation of large grassroots petrochemical complexes, capacity expansions/ asset improvements, troubleshooting and strategic business initiatives.

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

The following are the key accountabilities for which only this role is accountable, indicating the percentage (%) of time spent:

1- Identify, develop and implement projects in separation optimization, process system engineering covering process synthesis, process design, process modeling and simulation, process integration (e.g. pinch analysis), techno-economic and sustainability analysis of new processes. (20%)

2- Generate new ideas and develop it from proof of concept to commercial scale. (15%)

3- Lead technology solution development and execution to improve plant performance. (15%)

4- Train and Mentor project leaders and team in execution of technology Projects or Technical Support to Affiliates. (15%)

5-Support Olefins and Aromatics business in evaluation of large grassroots petrochemical complexes, capacity expansions/ asset improvements, troubleshooting and strategic business initiatives. (15%)

6- Conduct due diligence on emerging Technologies / Advancements in Olefins and Aromatics Technology. Prepare technology white paper to translate technical knowledge into relevant recommendations and guidance for senior management. (10%)

7- Coordinate with external professional bodies (consortium), forums, expert groups and technology providers for collaboration to achieve business objectives. (10%)

8- Identify training needs of the team and conduct /organize formal trainings to improve technical capabilities of the team.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Post Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering

.

Minimum Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience with proven track record in separation technology and process synthesis, design and process improvements through application of statistical data analysis, mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization of process design via 1st principles.
