About the opportunity

On behalf of an established international energy-services group STRAGO International is recruiting a Business Development Manager to grow a specialist chemical business across the Middle East.

This is a newly created standalone role dedicated to a single high-growth product line. It offers the successful candidate the autonomy to shape and build the regional customer base from an early stage an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial commercial professional who wants ownership rather than a seat in a large established team.

The position is based in Abu Dhabi with an initial focus on the UAE market and a planned expansion over time into Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and operating as an individual contributor you will own the full commercial cycle for the product line from identifying and qualifying new opportunities through to negotiation and close. You will build the pipeline develop long-term customer and partner relationships and act as the commercial face of the business in the region.

Key focus areas:

  • Identify qualify and win new business to grow product-line revenue against agreed targets.
  • Build and maintain a healthy well-managed sales pipeline with disciplined CRM activity and forecasting hygiene.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients distributors and channel partners and onboard new accounts.
  • Lead customer and partner visits across the region to advance live opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of proposals bids and tenders and contribute to pricing negotiation and deal closure.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on competitor activity customer requirements and sector trends.
  • Represent the business at industry events conferences and exhibitions.
  • Work closely with engineering operations marketing and finance to align delivery with customer expectations.
  • Uphold commercial governance and HSEQ standards across all activity.
What we are looking for
  • 5 years business development or technical sales experience in the oil & gas / energy sector ideally within production chemicals or chemical injection.
  • A strong existing network spanning chemical suppliers the chemical divisions of international oilfield service companies operators and EPC contractors.
  • Production chemistry knowledge a background in offshore production chemicals is a distinct advantage.
  • Technical familiarity with chemical injection equipment including pumps skids and high-pressure pipework.
  • Comfortable selling into international oilfield service companies which form the primary customer base rather than national operators directly.
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering revenue growth and securing new contracts.
  • Experience selling technical engineering or industrial services and translating them into clear customer value propositions.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage but not essential.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
  • A relevant degree is welcome but not essential the right industry experience and network matter most.
