BACKHOE DREDGE MASTER

Backhoe Dredge Master is responsible for day to day operations with highest production and efficiency and as well as highest operating hours, movements & activities in accordance to NMDC policies & operating procedures while complying with regulations of concerned authorities.

Backhoe Dredge Master is responsible for operations of lifting machines, Mooring/unmooring of the hopper barge to Backhoe Dredger, and thus responsible for daily dredging operation, communications, safe navigation, maintain stability & encourage safe working practice amongst crew.

To supervise dredging operations and optimize the dredging process and the continuity of the vessel. Keeps up to date reports of Dredging operations and progress.

Safeguards the integrity of the vessel and excavator

Makes himself fully aware concerned the hydrographic, and metrological situation in the area of operations.

Safeguarding & motivate crews on health, safety & environment policies.

To organize daily maintenance works (greasing, replacement of bucket teeth etc.) of dredging equipment together with Technical Superintendent

Ensuring periodical review of safety management system & report/suggest to Superintendents on the matter

Manage Safety programs & drills on-board.

To train & familiarize new crew members of the Dredger.

To perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
