Associate Professor Multimedia Design

Applicants must have earned a terminal degree in the relevant field that is or can be recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education. The successful applicant will have a record of Excellent teaching and will be expected to teach both introductory and advanced-level courses. Administrative experience would be an asset.

Candidates should be flexible and able to teach various courses in their discipline. The successful candidate will demonstrate versatility, forward-thinking, and advanced working software knowledge appropriate to Animation, Interactive Design, game design and Multimedia Design. The position requires an interdisciplinary approach, and the candidate will be able to teach courses including animation (2D and 3D), 3D modelling, digital video, web design, game design, motion graphics, or motion foundations.

The candidate’s innovative approaches to engaging students in animation and multimedia design tools and digital skills should be evident in their teaching portfolio – statement of teaching philosophy, syllabi and student work samples. The ability to contribute to critical research priorities, including new graphics technologies, virtual reality and immersive media, will be considered an asset.

As well as teaching, the following are some of the University and administrative services expected from the successful candidate: Advise and mentor students; Serve on department, college, and university committees as assigned; Curriculum development and coordination with other faculty; Reach out to the community and industry to instigate initiatives involving students.
