The successful candidate will assist project biologist or crew lead in collection, recording, and entering biological data into spreadsheets and upload into databases. Work occurs in field, hatchery, and office settings and includes caring for juvenile and adult fish during trapping, handling, tagging, transporting and tracking. Must be in goof physical shape as redd count hikes and rotary screw trap installation/maintenance/operation, and other work often occurs in steep terrain and hot/cold weather.
Requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Requires a B.S degree in fisheries or similar field of study and a year of related work experience. The successful candidate will have experience with fish identification; radio telemetry techniques including running equipment/tagging/tracking; rotary screw traps; adult/juvenile fish PIT tagging; and conducting spawning ground surveys. Successful candidate will also have a high level of attention to detail and will excel at QA/QC of data.
