Job Description

Qualifications Essential

  • Able to demonstrate good understanding of Microsoft office programmes.
  • RSA Level 3 typing/word processing or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Sound educational background (4 GCSEs, grade 4 or above; including Maths and English).

Desirable

  • IT qualifications e.g. ECDL.
  • PA/Secretarial Diploma.

Experience Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Secretarial experience.
  • Experience of working with filing systems.
  • Experience of good customer or patient care.
  • Working with computer software programmes such as Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet.
  • Experience of scheduling/co-ordination activities and/or resources.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS administrative role.
  • Experience with NHS/healthcare software systems.
  • Experience of working with confidential material.

Knowledge & Awareness Essential

  • Proven ability to prioritise and work efficiently.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and work on own initiative.
  • Understanding and knowledge Caldicott/Data Protection Act.
  • Awareness of own limitations.
  • Prioritise tasks.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Skills & Abilities Essential

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly (verbally and written).
  • Enthusiastic.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge and develop professionally.
