Job Summary
The Public Relations Officer is responsible for providing costeffective PR support to the business by handling all governmentrelated processes and ensuring the companys interests are represented with relevant authorities. The role ensures smooth and compliant handling of statutory requirements for both employees and the company.
Your responsibilities as a public relations officer:
- Handle all governmentrelated processes including obtaining certificates and renewals managing company registrations and maintaining government portals.
- Manage visarelated procedures such as applications issuance cancellations and guiding employees on documentation and timelines.
- Liaise with Immigration Labour Departments QuasiGovernment entities Port Authorities Embassies and other relevant bodies to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
- Process and maintain company legal documents including Trade Licenses endorsements Chamber of Commerce documents and other required paperwork.
- Track reconcile and submit accurate PRrelated expense reports in line with company policy.
- Represent Smit Lamnalco in Labour cases and complete statutory formalities as required.
- Provide regular updates to HR and Operations on political government or regulatory changes affecting the company.
Your qualities
You can make your mark as a public relations officer if you will have:
- Secondary vocational education or equivalent qualification.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant Public Relations/Government Relations experience preferably within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of UAE labour immigration and commercial regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience handling government portals (Immigration Labour Economic Departments Free Zones etc.).
- Excellent relationshipbuilding skills with government stakeholders and external agencies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a must.
- Ability to represent the company professionally in government settings.
- Willingness to be based in the U.A.E.
- Valid drivers license and personal vehicle required.
