As a Project Control Engineer you will be responsible for the planning scheduling progress monitoring cost control and reporting functions during the FEED phase of engineering projects. This role ensures that the project stays within budget and schedule while adhering to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of engineering deliverables resource planning and earned value principles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering schedules (Level 1-4) using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
- Define WBS activity coding resource loading and logic sequencing for all FEED deliverables.
- Integrate schedules across disciplines and track critical paths and milestones.
- Track physical and schedule progress against baseline plans.
- Collect and analyze progress data from engineering disciplines and vendors.
- Maintain progress curves S-curves and manpower histograms.
- Assist in developing project budgets for FEED phase.
- Monitor actual costs versus budgets and forecast cost-to-complete.
- Prepare monthly cost reports with variance analysis and corrective action recommendations.
- Support identification and analysis of risks affecting the project schedule and cost.
- Provide inputs for risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress and cost reports.
- Support preparation of project dashboards and management presentations.
- Maintain logs for change management delay analysis and earned value tracking.
- Liaise with engineering leads procurement and subcontractors to ensure accurate progress reporting.
- Attend project review meetings and provide planning and cost control inputs.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or related field.
- 5 years of experience in project controls with a focus on FEED/engineering phases.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 MS Project and Excel-based tools.
- Knowledge of cost control systems (e.g. EcoSys SAP or similar).
- Understanding of engineering deliverables and discipline workflows.
- Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) principles.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience in oil & gas energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Professional certifications (e.g. PMI-SP CCP PSP AACEI) are a plus.
- Exposure to international and EPC/EPCM project environments.
