Roles and responsibilities

• Warmly welcoming every guest and establishing a professional connection by respectfully interacting with them and understanding their needs
• Check identification of the guest to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and tobacco products.
• Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes.
• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages.
• Service Wine and Beer to guests.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Ability to Sell or influence others for up selling and suggestive selling.
• Provide recommendations and suggestions to guest for choosing Drinks and Snacks.
• Serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times.
• Provide guidance to guests on resort activities, dining options and general resort and Regional information.
• Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and if required refusing any further serving on a polite way.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and Promotions
• Ensure bar always will remain clean and tidy during the service and after the service.
• Clear ashtrays as and when required.
• Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
• Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. if required.
• Perform physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
• Maintain liquor, tobacco inventories and consumption.
• Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
• Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
• Prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
• Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for Mixing beverages and serving guests.
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Perform other duties as and when assigned by the hotel management.
• Must be able to communicate in English writing and speaking and other languages are advantages. Good personality and Positive interpersonal skills required.

Desired candidate profile

• Preparing and Serving Drinks

  • Mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks to customers based on orders.
  • Creating classic cocktails and signature drinks with high attention to taste and presentation.
  • Using bartending tools like shakers, strainers, and blenders correctly to prepare drinks.

• Customer Service

  • Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Taking drink orders, providing recommendations, and engaging in friendly conversation.
  • Ensuring a positive and pleasant experience by responding to customer needs and preferences.

• Maintaining Bar Stock and Supplies

  • Monitoring inventory levels and restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
  • Managing orders for replenishing stock and checking for product quality (e.g., ensuring fresh fruit for garnishes).

• Handling Payments and Transactions

  • Accurately processing payments for drinks and food, handling cash or processing credit card transactions.
  • Ensuring all transactions are properly documented and that guests are charged accordingly.

• Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization

  • Keeping the bar area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, washing glasses, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
  • Ensuring all glassware and utensils are properly sanitized.
  • Following proper sanitation and hygiene procedures, especially when handling food and drinks.

• Monitoring Alcohol Consumption

  • Observing customer behavior to ensure they are drinking responsibly and within legal limits.
  • Refusing service to overly intoxicated or disruptive guests in accordance with local laws and policies.
  • Promoting a safe drinking environment and offering non-alcoholic options when necessary.

• Handling Customer Complaints

  • Addressing any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensuring any mistakes in orders are corrected in a timely manner and offering compensation if appropriate.

• Setting Up and Closing the Bar

  • Preparing the bar before shifts by setting up liquor bottles, glassware, and mixers.
  • Closing duties include cleaning, securing inventory, and setting up for the next day’s operations.
