Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure that driveway is free from any obstruction
  • Welcome every Guest entering the hotel (Arrivals & non-in house)
  • Ensure that Guests are greeted at the car within 30 seconds of the vehicles pulling onto the driveway
  • Remain observant and responds to each Guest who passes through the front entrances of the hotel
  • Ensure that other Guests are acknowledged while engaged with other Guests
  • Give clear directions for Guest to retrieve car when issuing valet ticket if the car is to be valet parked
  • Report suspicious people or behavior to security personnel
  • Ensure that the driveway is not congested
  • Be aware of the circumstances surrounding each vehicle on the driveway
  • Arrange taxi transport for all Guests who require it
  • Ensure that the hotel holds keys for each vehicle parked on the driveway
  • Maintain a perpetual presence on the driveway throughout the hours of the shift
  • Be assertive, yet polite to Guests wanting to park on the driveway
  • Be an ambassador for the hotel by providing an excellent first impression of the hotel to the Guest
  • Be willing to share ideas with the Dispatchers of how to improve our service to our Guests
  • Attend shift briefing at start of shift in order to keep up-to-date with happenings in the hotel

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the position is an asset, although not a prerequisite
  • Should possess the ability to work fast and efficiently under pressure
  • Should have a strong personality in order to be assertive when controlling traffic on the driveway
  • Must have the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Should be physically fit in order to lift and move luggage
  • Should have a good knowledge of the hotel and Dubai, as well as current events
  • Good English skills essential (verbal and written). Second language is an asset
  • Must always maintain high levels of personal presentation
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Must realize his role as a team member
  • Should be guest-orientated

Desired candidate profile

  • Greeting and Welcoming Guests

    • Opening doors for guests and visitors with a friendly demeanor.
    • Providing a warm, professional first impression to anyone entering or exiting the building.
  • Customer Service

    • Assisting residents or guests with their needs, including offering directions, providing information about the building, or helping with luggage.
    • Maintaining a positive, courteous attitude to ensure excellent service.
  • Security Monitoring

    • Ensuring only authorized individuals are allowed into the building or premises.
    • Monitoring who enters and exits, keeping track of deliveries, and maintaining a log of visitor activity.
  • Handling Packages and Deliveries

    • Accepting and securing deliveries, such as parcels, groceries, or packages.
    • Ensuring items are properly stored or directed to the correct recipient.
  • Managing Building Access

    • Ensuring that security protocols are followed, such as verifying identities or checking keys/access cards.
    • Helping guests with questions regarding building policies (such as visitor access or package deliveries).
  • Assisting with Transportation

    • Calling taxis or ride-sharing services for guests.
    • Helping arrange transportation or escorting guests to their vehicles when needed.
  • Emergency Response

    • Familiarity with building evacuation procedures and emergency protocols.
    • Being alert and responsive in case of emergencies or safety issues (e.g., fires, medical situations).
  • Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization

    • Keeping the entrance area clean and organized, including tidying up the lobby or door area.
    • Ensuring that the door area is safe, unobstructed, and welcoming.
