Roles and responsibilities
We are looking for a seasoned product manager who can support our payments team, product team. The ideal candidate has a product mindset and is able to drive discovery and delivery processes. Preferably with a travel background and a good level of understanding of technology.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within an integrated team (UX, Product, Tech) to create new features across web, mobile, and native app platforms, ensuring a consistent user experience.
- Use analytical methods to focus on high-impact solutions for identified problems, delivering maximum value to users and the business.
- Translate customer and business goals into measurable results throughout the product life cycle, tracking progress effectively.
- Collaborate with other product teams for expansion into new verticals, leveraging opportunities for synergy.
- Work with Marketing, Content, Finance, Data, and Business Operations to implement enhancements efficiently.
- Actively participate in ongoing qualitative and quantitative research to pinpoint and prioritize customer problems, driving product improvements.
- Conduct A/B tests using tools such as Split.io to enhance features, maximize product value, and improve the user experience.
- Translate experiment findings into user stories and criteria for smooth implementation by development and QA teams.
- Drive team performance using scrum practices, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Lead scrum ceremonies and processes to ensure high-quality and timely deliveries.
Profile Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (min 3 years) as a Product Manager, demonstrating a track record of successful product launches and improvements.
- Exposure to fintech, understanding the intersection of financial technology and travel services, with a grasp of innovative payment solutions and their integration into travel products.
- Strong analytical skills including proficiency in SQL for data analysis, experience in reading and interpreting data from Tableau dashboards, and capability in navigating Google Analytics. Proficiency in Google Analytics event creation is a plus.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making, leveraging insights derived from various analytical tools to make informed and insightful product decisions.
- Experience in translating data insights into actionable product improvements, iterating based on user behavior and market trends to drive product success.
Desired candidate profile
1. Payments Industry Knowledge
- Payment Systems: Understanding various payment methods such as credit/debit cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, ACH, and newer solutions like cryptocurrency payments.
- Payment Gateways: Experience with payment gateway integrations (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Square, Adyen), and understanding the technical, security, and compliance aspects of these systems.
- Global Payment Ecosystem: Familiarity with global payment systems and how they work across different regions, along with cross-border payment challenges.
- Regulations and Compliance: Knowledge of financial regulations such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, PSD2, and KYC/AML compliance related to payment processing.
2. Product Strategy and Development
- Product Roadmap: Defining and managing the product roadmap for payment solutions, prioritizing features, and aligning the product’s strategic direction with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Feature Development: Designing, developing, and enhancing payment features (e.g., payment gateways, fraud detection, multi-currency support) that meet customer needs.
- Market Research: Conducting research on emerging payment trends, competitor analysis, and customer pain points to drive innovation in payment solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with internal teams (engineering, operations, marketing, legal) and external stakeholders (payment service providers, banks, fintech companies) to deliver the product.
3. Technical Expertise
- API Integrations: Understanding API design and integration for payment solutions, working closely with engineering teams to integrate payment systems seamlessly.
- Fraud Prevention and Security: Expertise in fraud prevention tools, security protocols (e.g., 3D Secure, tokenization), and compliance with security standards like PCI-DSS.
- Technical Problem Solving: The ability to troubleshoot technical issues, work with development teams to address payment failures, and optimize payment flows for reliability and speed.
4. Customer-Centric Approach
- User Experience (UX) Design: Understanding the user experience in the payment process, ensuring ease of use, transparency, and minimizing friction during payment transactions.
- Customer Feedback: Gathering feedback from users and customers to improve payment features and ensure that the solutions meet user expectations.
- Optimization: Continuously analyzing the payment process to improve conversion rates, reduce cart abandonment, and increase overall customer satisfaction.
