Your new role, what's involved?

  • Tendering & Contract Documentation: Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract agreements, ensuring all costs and quantities are correctly specified. Review tender submissions and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Cost Control & Monitoring: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, track variations, and ensure work is being executed in line with budgetary constraints. Provide recommendations for cost control measures.
  • Interim Valuations & Payment Certification: Assist in preparing interim valuations for work completed, ensuring that contractors are paid in accordance with agreed terms and the work completed on-site is accurately reflected.
  • Variation & Claims Management: Review and assess any variations or claims submitted by contractors, ensuring they are justified and in line with contract terms. Assist in negotiations and preparing documentation for approval.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all financial and contractual documents related to the underground utilities project. Provide regular reports to senior management, including updates on cost performance, progress, and any financial concerns.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving any contractual or financial disputes that arise between the contractor and client, ensuring timely and fair resolutions.
  • Collaboration with Project Team: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure the project is delivered within the approved budget and according to schedule. Provide support in resolving any financial or contractual issues that arise on-site.
  • Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all financial documentation complies with the relevant construction regulations, project specifications, and industry standards in the UAE.

Desired candidate profile

  • Education: A Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., RICS) are advantageous but not required.
  • Experience:

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in measurements, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address cost discrepancies, variations, and claims.
