Job Purpose
The Site Activity Coordinator is responsible for implementing and verifying safe systems of work on the railway alignment. This includes coordinating with the NOCC Train Controller or Possession Supervisor to manage track possessions worksites and contractor access ensuring a safe work environment for personnel and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Contractor Access Management
- Manage and supervise contractor access to the railway corridor.
- Conduct safety briefings ensuring compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Verify workers competence and ensure emergency arrangements are understood.
Field Coordination of Safe Systems of Work
- Liaise with NOCC or Possession Supervisor to establish and manage SSOW.
- Ensure clear tracks postwork and hand over possessions/permits within time.
- Supervise multidisciplinary technical teams onsite.
Network Access Assessment
- Evaluate access applications to identify and mitigate rail hazards.
Safety & Compliance
- Inspect and verify adherence to safety protocols and stop unsafe activities.
- Report field activities and ensure compliance with Etihad Rail standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Certificate/Diploma in Safety or Rail Operations.
- Valid full driving license.
Experience
- Background in railway operations with knowledge of possession and permittowork systems.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating field teams.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic Urdu or Hindi is advantageous.
- Strong communication adaptability and cultural awareness.
- Ability to work in harsh environments including desert locations and during night shifts.
