Roles and responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Oversight:
- Identify, lead and guide the development of teams refocussing on existing assets, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for asset transformation projects.
Diverse Engineering Expertise:
- Encourage and support the development of asset transformation expertise, fostering innovation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Review and endorse existing asset solution documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Business Development Support:
- Seek to identify, incubate, consolidate and grow new service lines and revenue streams associated with existing assets and asset transformation. Foster innovation and the application of new and alternative solutions.
Project Management:
- Manage and be accountable for asset transformation projects; with the ability to zoom in or out from macro to micro, as the projects proceed.
- Draw in other WSP professionals to provide the best team, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Deliver with a strong practical sense, bringing reason and reality to bear on the outcomes.
Client Engagement:
- Engage with professionals at all levels of the industry. In the role you may need to convince CEOs that your strategy should be implemented, and also tradespeople that your solution works. You will need to engage and garner the confidence of individuals within client teams at all levels.
Desired candidate profile
- A bachelor’s degree in a construction-related discipline; master’s is a plus.
- A minimum of 17 years of experience in construction, with an engineering consultancy and/or client representation background, but also diversity.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to take on new and non-routine tasks – facing challenges where every project is different.
- A curious and analytical mindset - the propensity to problem-solve and engage positively with challenges not previously encountered.
- A measured and mature ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Experience in working with existing assets – particularly refurbishments, repurposing, renovation and/or solutioneering in a failure investigation.
- Strong business development acumen with a track record of successful client engagement.
- A working knowledge of Middle East codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience working in the GCC region.
