Roles and responsibilities
- Follows work schedules and receive Chilled Water Pipes, supports and accessories from the site stores to perform the installation works
- Carries out required markings at site ensuring the workshop drawings/coordination drawings are strictly followed
- Carries out installation works of chilled water pipe supports, Pipes and accessories according to the drawings and measurements
- Contributes to testing & commissioning of chilled water system when required
- Ensures that the necessary tools and plants are available in order to perform the job
- Always Follow the HSE requirements of the site to ensure that HSE regulations are met

- System Upgrades: Installing additional pipes or modifying existing systems to accommodate upgrades or changes in the building’s needs, such as adding new water lines or gas lines.
- Retrofitting: Retrofitting older systems with new, more efficient components or adapting them to meet new standards or regulations.

Documentation:
- Keeping Records: Maintaining records of installations, repairs, and maintenance work, as well as ensuring that all work is properly documented for future reference or inspection.
- Compliance Documentation: Keeping track of inspection results and testing records to ensure compliance with local, state, or national regulations.
Skills Required for a Pipe Fitter

Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, and pipe fitting techniques.
- Knowledge of various types of pipes and fittings, as well as the appropriate methods for joining them (e.g., welding, threading, brazing).

Blueprint Reading:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to understand the layout and installation requirements of a piping system.

Mathematical Skills:
- Proficiency in basic math for measuring and cutting pipes accurately, calculating angles, and determining the necessary pipe lengths and sizes.

Welding and Cutting Skills:
- Expertise in welding and cutting metal pipes to create secure and leak-proof joints.

- Ability to identify issues with piping systems, troubleshoot problems, and find effective solutions to ensure proper system function.

- Strong manual skills and precision when working with tools and equipment to cut, fit, and assemble pipes.
