Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years experience in business development, preferably in the outsourcing industry.
  • Strong understanding of outsourcing services such as IT, BPO, customer support, or HR solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Goal-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Job Purpose

  • As a business development executive, you will oversee strategic and operational business development, including identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, negotiating deals, and building client relationships.
  • Identifying New Business Opportunities:

    • Market Research: Conduct thorough research to identify new markets, industries, and customer segments. Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
    • Lead Generation: Identify and generate potential leads through various channels like cold calling, networking, social media outreach, email marketing, and attending industry events or conferences.
    • Prospecting: Reach out to potential clients and customers, qualify leads, and assess their business needs to determine if the company's products or services are a good fit.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation:

    • Sales Presentations: Create and deliver engaging sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition, benefits, and differentiators of the company’s products or services.
    • Negotiation: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients to close sales and secure long-term relationships. This may include pricing, deliverables, and other contractual agreements.
    • Sales Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts and set targets for revenue generation, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Relationship Building and Networking:

    • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and customer retention. Be a point of contact for ongoing client communication and feedback.
    • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and business functions to meet new potential clients and establish connections that can lead to new business opportunities.
    • Partnership Development: Identify potential strategic partnerships or collaborations with other businesses to expand the company’s reach and capabilities.
  • Proposal Writing and Documentation:

    • Creating Proposals: Work with internal teams to prepare tailored proposals and presentations based on client needs and requirements. Ensure proposals address key business challenges and present viable solutions.
    • Contracts and Agreements: Assist in preparing and negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure the terms are favorable and meet client expectations.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning:

    • Strategic Planning: Develop business development strategies in alignment with organizational goals. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the effectiveness of sales efforts.
    • Market Entry Strategies: Propose strategies for entering new markets or expanding within existing markets, including identifying target audiences and creating go-to-market plans.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams like marketing, sales, and product development to align business development efforts with marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and product launches.
    • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate efforts across various departments, ensuring the proper delivery of products and services to clients and providing feedback to improve the company’s offerings.

Desired candidate profile

  1. Sales Skills:

    • Strong ability to identify and pursue new sales opportunities, close deals, and meet sales targets.
    • Knowledge of B2B or B2C sales cycles, as well as various sales methodologies (e.g., solution selling, consultative selling).
  2. Communication Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver persuasive sales pitches, negotiate contracts, and maintain effective communication with clients and internal teams.
  3. Negotiation Skills:

    • Ability to negotiate favorable terms and close deals that benefit both the client and the organization.
  4. Market Research and Analytical Skills:

    • Ability to conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify business opportunities and threats.
    • Analytical skills to assess customer needs and tailor business development strategies accordingly.
  5. Relationship Management:

    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, prospects, and partners.
  6. Time Management and Organization:

    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple leads, and work under deadlines to achieve business goals.
  7. Networking Abilities:

    • Strong networking skills, with the ability to establish connections in the industry, attend events, and build relationships with potential clients or partners.
  8. Problem-Solving:

    • Ability to identify problems and offer solutions that meet client needs, often requiring creativity and critical thinking.
  9. CRM Software:

    • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho CRM to track leads, customer interactions, and sales progress.
  10. Presentation and Public Speaking Skills:

  • Comfort and skill in presenting business proposals and making formal presentations to senior executives or prospective clients.
