Roles and responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure proper functioning of all equipment, lighting, plumbing, and furniture.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance work for any room-related issues, including electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and general room upkeep.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently to minimize guest disruption.
- Ensure rooms are prepared and maintained in excellent condition before guest check-in.
- Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies needed for room repairs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols when performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Report any major malfunctions or problems to the Engineering Department or Maintenance Manager for further action.
- Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to address any room-related issues that affect guest satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety within the work environment.
What We Need From You
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance or room technician roles preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance procedures.

- Fixing a Leaky Faucet: Addressing plumbing issues in guest bathrooms to prevent water wastage or inconvenience.
- Replacing a Broken TV Remote: Ensuring that entertainment systems in the room are fully functional, including troubleshooting electronic devices like TVs or sound systems.
- Repairing Air Conditioning: If a guest reports an issue with the room temperature or AC unit, the room technician would diagnose and fix the problem promptly.
- Troubleshooting Lighting: Fixing malfunctioning lights or outlets in the room to ensure that the guest has adequate lighting.
- Addressing Maintenance Complaints: Responding to guest requests regarding room conditions, such as temperature control, and making necessary adjustments or repairs.

- Routine Inspections: Performing regular inspections of room systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns, ensure functionality, and address any minor issues before they escalate.
- Record Keeping: Documenting maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements, and ensuring that records are updated accurately.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Performing scheduled tasks like replacing air filters, cleaning equipment, and checking for wear and tear.

- Professional and Courteous Communication: Interacting with guests when necessary, addressing concerns or requests related to room issues (e.g., temperature, malfunctioning devices), and offering friendly service.
- Minimizing Guest Disruption: Ensuring that any maintenance work in occupied rooms is performed at convenient times for the guest, and completing tasks as quietly and efficiently as possible.

- Adhering to Safety Protocols: Ensuring all work is completed according to safety standards, including safe handling of tools, chemicals, and equipment.
- Guest Room Safety: Addressing potential safety hazards in the room, such as faulty wiring, broken glass, or fire hazards.
- Emergency Response: Knowing how to respond to emergencies, such as power outages, plumbing issues that could lead to flooding, or safety concerns in guest rooms.
6. Inventory and Equipment Management
- Tool Management: Keeping an organized inventory of tools and maintenance supplies required to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Equipment Stock Control: Ensuring that replacement parts and necessary equipment (e.g., light bulbs, batteries, or plumbing parts) are available and replenished when necessary.
