Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Analyze the online travel ecosystem, markets, competitive landscape and user requirements
  • Conceptualize, launch and optimize products and features, experiment, test their performance and iterate quickly
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal and UX teams on cutting-edge technologies
  • Develop innovative solutions to some of the world’s difficult problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (i.e. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline)
  • Proven ability to leverage analytics and quantitative methods to inform and influence decision-making
  • Strong data skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written in English) with proven ability to convey complex messages clearly and with conviction to different stakeholders
  • Experience developing and launching products
  • Experience leading global product vision, go-to-market strategy and design discussions
  • Entrepreneurial and analytical skills; effective at breaking down complex problems and driving and managing change
  • Hands-on mentality

It’s great if you have:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Math, Economics, Computer Science or Statistics
  • Data tools – SQL, Python, R, or equivalent
  • Leadership and Influence:

    • Ability to lead by example, inspiring and motivating others while remaining collaborative and approachable.
    • Ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives, team members, and external partners, ensuring alignment with the product vision.
  • Adaptability and Resilience:

    • Comfort in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
    • Ability to adjust quickly to changing market conditions, product needs, and customer feedback.
    • Resilience in handling setbacks, learning from failures, and adapting strategies for future success.
  • Strategic Thinking:

    • Ability to think long-term about the product’s direction and its position in the market.
    • Balancing short-term goals (e.g., product launches) with long-term strategic objectives (e.g., market expansion).
  • Negotiation Skills:

    • Negotiating trade-offs between features, timelines, and resources with different stakeholders to ensure that the product meets business objectives without compromising on quality.

Desired candidate profile

  • Product Strategy and Vision:

    • Ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with the company’s mission, goals, and market opportunities.
    • Defining the product roadmap, prioritizing features based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
    • Conducting market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to shape the product strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams, such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales, ensuring the product is developed, marketed, and sold successfully.
    • Facilitating communication between teams and managing expectations across stakeholders.
    • Ensuring that each department has the resources and information needed to execute the product strategy.
  • Project Management:

    • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) to manage the product development lifecycle and maintain efficient workflows.
    • Proficiency in tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana to track product development progress, plan sprints, and manage tasks.
    • Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset:

    • Deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and desires through user research, surveys, and direct interaction.
    • Developing product features and solutions that solve specific customer problems and create a seamless user experience.
    • Regularly seeking customer feedback to refine and iterate on the product.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Tableau) to track product performance, user engagement, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Using A/B testing and other methods to validate product hypotheses and make data-backed decisions.
    • Identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for the product and using data to guide product enhancements.
  • Leadership and Mentorship:

    • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams while maintaining a positive and productive environment.
    • Mentoring and guiding junior product managers and team members, offering support in professional development.
    • Providing clear direction, feedback, and leadership throughout the product development process.
  • Communication and Presentation:

    • Strong communication skills to present product plans, updates, and results to internal stakeholders, including executives.
    • Ability to clearly articulate product features, benefits, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Creating and delivering compelling product presentations to drive alignment across teams and influence key stakeholders.
