Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Experience in Mechanical with certification in ISO Auditing, welding, NDE, Coating etc.

Experience OR Qualifications

  • Minimum Overall 15+ years of oil & gas experience.
  • Must have at least 3 to 5 Years experience working in SRU and Gas Processing projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a MUST.
  • FEED experience is a must.
  • PMC experience is an added advantage.
  • GCC experience required.
  • A Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves leadership in quality management, testing, inspection, and continuous improvement initiatives. Senior Quality Engineers typically work in industries like manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, and electronics. Below is a comprehensive skill set for a Senior Quality Engineer:

    Technical Skills

  • Quality Management Systems (QMS):

    • In-depth knowledge of QMS standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (for automotive), ISO 13485 (for medical devices), and AS9100 (for aerospace).
    • Ability to develop, implement, and audit QMS procedures and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma:

    • Proficient in SPC tools to monitor and control the quality of manufacturing processes.
    • Expertise in Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) and tools such as control charts, process capability analysis (Cp, Cpk), and design of experiments (DOE).
    • Conducting process improvement initiatives, with a focus on reducing defects and variability in production.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA):

    • Skilled in using root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone Diagram (Ishikawa), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 5 Whys to identify the causes of defects or failures.
    • Leading CAPA processes to resolve issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Inspection and Testing:

    • Proficient in various testing and inspection methods including visual inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), destructive testing, and functional testing.
    • Expertise in developing and validating test plans, test protocols, and acceptance criteria for both in-process and final inspection.
  • Quality Auditing:

    • Conducting internal and external quality audits to assess compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
    • Leading audits for suppliers and vendors, ensuring their adherence to quality requirements and industry standards.
  • Supplier Quality Management:

    • Managing the selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring of suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and components.
    • Coordinating supplier audits and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM):

    • Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools and techniques to track and manage quality throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design to production.
    • Ensuring quality is integrated into product design and development through DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
  • Testing Standards and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards such as FDA (for medical devices), CE marking (for Europe), UL (for electronics), or ISO/TS 16949 (for automotive).
    • Ensuring products meet safety, environmental, and performance standards before they are released to market.

  3. Communication and Reporting:

    • Preparing and presenting reports on quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Effectively communicating technical information to non-technical teams and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed about quality performance and challenges.
  4. Training and Development:

    • Conducting training sessions for employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure a culture of quality across the organization.
    • Continuously improving the team's technical skills and knowledge in quality engineering methods and tools.
  5. Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing:

    • Leading continuous improvement efforts such as Kaizen, 5S, and value stream mapping (VSM) to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
    • Applying Lean and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, defects, and inefficiencies in processes.
