Roles and responsibilities
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Technical Associate Director - Security (Civil Infrastructure) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive security strategies for various civil infrastructure projects across the region.
- Develop a comprehensive threat assessment for multiple infrastructure projects, covering a wide range of scenarios, from petty crime to terrorism, identify and evaluate security threats, considering various factors such as location, type of property, and potential risks.
- Develop the security Strategy of the infrastructure projects with realistic and cost-effective strategies tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Assist in prioritizing security measures based on potential risks and operational requirements, while considering factors such as budget constraints and adaptability to future changes.
- Develop the mitigation measures plan, recommend appropriate security measures, including both physical and electronic solutions.
- Assist in estimating cost, coordination with clients, and adapting strategies to evolving security needs.
- Propose a variety of technical security solutions, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and communication systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to integrate security systems with development infrastructure.
- Develop the physical security design concepts such as landscaping, and crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED).
- Provide support in project coordination, tender processes, compliance reviews, through the project lifecycle activities related to security implementation.
- Propose the latest security trends, and innovative technologies in the field.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical)
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in security risk management, strategy, and systems design
- Proven track record in civil infrastructure projects
- In-depth knowledge of security systems and technologies, including video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection
- Strong understanding of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles
- Familiarity with international security standards and best practices
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and plan effectively
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
- Experience in the Middle East region is highly advantageous
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for security system design and project management

- Innovation and Best Practices: Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Leading initiatives to integrate innovative solutions that improve efficiency, quality, or sustainability.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring the technical work produced by the team meets industry standards, company policies, and client specifications. This could include reviewing deliverables, conducting audits, and implementing quality control processes.
- Problem Solving: Addressing technical challenges that arise during project execution, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the team has the necessary support to resolve problems effectively.
3. Project Management and Execution
- Project Oversight: Leading or supporting the delivery of complex projects, ensuring that technical objectives are achieved on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This often involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating technical risks that could impact the project, such as design flaws, engineering issues, or resource constraints.
- Client Engagement: Interfacing with clients to understand their needs, providing technical expertise during project initiation, and ensuring their requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Change Management: Managing changes in project scope or specifications, ensuring that any modifications are handled efficiently and that they do not negatively affect the project’s technical integrity.
4. Strategic Planning and Business Development
- Business Growth: Contributing to the growth of the business by identifying new technical opportunities, innovations, or markets. This could include developing new service offerings or participating in business development efforts to attract new clients.
- Technical Proposal Development: Leading the development of technical proposals for new projects, including assessing client requirements, preparing cost estimates, and drafting the technical approach.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, regulatory bodies, and suppliers, to ensure that technical objectives align with broader business and organizational goals.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Overseeing the financial aspects of technical projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, and making adjustments as necessary to maintain project profitability.
