Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Advises and assists Project and Construction Management in the formulation, implementation, and management of the project's health, safety, environment, and logistic plans. These plans pertain to infrastructure work job site locations, which are separate and distinct construction operations requiring integrated supervision of programs. Reports organizationally to the Abu Dhabi Sector SH&E Manager. Ensures that the project safety plan especially the logistic plan reflects Modon and Parsons policy and provides a coordinated plan for the overall project which complies with the prevailing safety requirements at the project site location.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related engineering field (or equivalent experience) and typically 15+ years of related work experience in the field of Health, Safety, and Environment with a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience (as Manager or above) accompanied by an EHS related Master’s Degree.

In addition to the above qualifications, Practitioners shall be OSHAD- OSHMS Practitioner A or B Grade and lead auditor qualification 14001, 18001 & 45001, etc. The proposed candidate shall have 15 years of experience in the safety, health, and environment field. Also, must have wide knowledge about UAE Road Regulation, OSHAD System Framework, Traffic Police, and Emirates of Abu Dhabi Work Zone – Traffic Management manual requirements.

Skills/Competencies

Requires a wide knowledge of UAE Road Regulation, OSHAD System Framework, Traffic Police, and Emirates of Abu Dhabi Work Zone – Traffic Management manual requirements and reporting procedures, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.


Desired candidate profile

  1. Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  2. Inventory Management: Proficiency in inventory control techniques and systems to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
  3. Logistics Software: Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).

Project Management

  1. Operational Planning: Ability to develop and implement logistics strategies and plans that align with organizational goals.
  2. Process Improvement: Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to enhance logistics operations.

Communication Skills

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  2. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and terms with vendors and carriers to secure favorable agreements.

Analytical Skills

  1. Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing logistics data to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
  2. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues in logistics operations and develop effective solutions.

Financial Acumen

  1. Budget Management: Experience in developing and managing budgets for logistics operations, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
  2. Cost Analysis: Skills in analyzing transportation and logistics costs to identify areas for cost reduction.

Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing logistics and transportation (e.g., customs regulations, safety standards).
  2. Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks in logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies.

Leadership and Team Management

  1. Team Leadership: Experience in leading and managing logistics teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  2. Training and Development: Skills in mentoring and developing team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
