Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Waiter / Waitress - Food & Beverage in Jumeirah Al Naseem. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Supervises effectiveness of workflow and sequence of service during service periods and provides constant hands-on support.
  • Provide knowledgeable, friendly, professional and efficient F&B Service to all guests ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in a manner consistent with Jumeirah standards.
  • Maintain efficient workflow by adhering to the Sequence of Service and all timeframes and standards detailed in relevant SOPs in the F&B Standards Manual.
  • Anticipate customer needs and expectations correctly, including those with special needs, and provide appropriate products, services or information.
  • Identify and take all opportunities to enhance the quality of service (upselling, guest recognition, resort knowledge)
  • Informs Outlet Manager / Assistant Manager of any complaints, negative feedback from guest after they first try to resolve.
  • Maintain good knowledge of the menu to answer questions the guests may have.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of F&B SOPs and ensure these are upheld at all times through constant observation and coaching



About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in the same position in a restaurant sector: within a 5-star hotel, luxury restaurant, or upscale bar setting.
  • Fluent in English and an additional international language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage applications: Micros and Sevenrooms.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Desired candidate profile

  1. Customer Service: Providing attentive and friendly service to enhance the dining experience.

  2. Order Management: Accurately taking and processing guest orders, ensuring timely delivery.

  3. Menu Knowledge: Understanding the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to make recommendations to guests.

  4. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, including tables, floors, and utensils.

  5. Collaboration: Working closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and communication.

  6. Payment Processing: Handling transactions and processing payments accurately.

  7. Complaint Resolution: Addressing guest complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  8. Inventory Management: Assisting in monitoring stock levels and managing supplies.

Key Skills

  1. Communication: Strong verbal skills for interacting with guests and team members effectively.

  2. Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tables and tasks simultaneously during busy service periods.

  3. Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in orders and presentation, as well as adherence to health and safety standards.

  4. Time Management: Efficiently managing time to deliver prompt service.

  5. Interpersonal Skills: Building rapport with guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

  6. Problem-Solving: Quickly addressing issues that arise during service.
