Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser to produce sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services. You will get the right product, in the right place, time, quantity and price.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers’ expectations and the company’s objectives
  • Analyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock
  • Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scales
  • Maximise customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
  • Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory
  • Forecast profits/sales and plan budgets
  • Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc
  • Build constructive customer relationships and team with channel partners to build a pipeline and close deals
  • Remain up to date with industry’s best practices

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in merchandising
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to “decode” customers
  • BS degree in Marketing or related field

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and market research to identify target audiences and assess media performance.

  • Strategic Thinking: Developing effective media strategies that align with client objectives and maximize reach and engagement.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for presenting ideas and collaborating with clients, creative teams, and media vendors.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate rates and placements with media outlets to optimize budgets and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in media plans, schedules, and budgets to prevent costly errors.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with media planning tools and software for tracking and analyzing campaign performance.

  • Creativity: Developing innovative ideas for media placements that stand out and resonate with target audiences.

  • Time Management: Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Media Channels: Understanding various media platforms, including digital, print, broadcast, and social media, and their respective audiences.

  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends, emerging media technologies, and changes in consumer behavior.
