Summary: Assist in managing the bakery section of the kitchen by preparing and baking a variety of bread pastries and other baked goods. Ensure high standards of quality and presentation while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation & Baking: Prepare and bake a range of bread pastries cakes and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high quality and consistency in all bakery products; ensure proper presentation and taste.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory of bakery ingredients and supplies; ensure proper storage and rotation to minimize waste.
- Hygiene & Cleanliness: Adhere to health and safety regulations including proper food handling and sanitation practices; maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area.
- Recipe Development: Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items; assist in experimenting with new techniques and ingredients.
- Team Support: Supervise and mentor junior bakery staff; assist with training and provide guidance to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service and timely preparation of bakery items.
Qualifications :
- Culinary diploma or relevant qualification in baking and pastry preferred.
- Previous experience in a pastry or baking role ideally in a luxury hotel or Michelin restaurant setting.
- Advanced knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients; strong organizational and timemanagement skills; ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
- Comfortable to work in fastpaced kitchen environment which may include exposure to heat and varying temperatures.
