Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • A proven track record in a Luxury Hotel or Resort environment in a Bartending role, delivering sensational Guest Experiences synonymous with FIVE's award-winning Service Quality.
  • A Bartending Certification or related professional training is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and mastery of a diverse and exhaustive range of Beverages, Cocktail Recipes, and Mixology Techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leveraging strong verbal and written skills to engage effectively with Guests, FIVE Tribe Members, and stakeholders.
  • Robust Organisational Skills and Exceptional Multi-Tasking skills to efficiently and accurately Manage Multiple Orders and Prioritise Tasks effectively.
  • A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensures every aspect of the Operation is perfectly curated.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety Regulations, and Responsible Alcohol Service practices.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the requirements of the Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curates and presents an exquisite selection of hand-crafted Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, adhering to ‘FIVE-Star’ standards of Preparation, Presentation and Taste.
  • Engages with Guests in a professional, friendly manner, taking Orders, making Tailored Recommendations, and providing Detailed Information about FIVE’s sensational beverage offerings.
  • Processes payments with precision and efficiency, Handles Cash and expertly Operates the Point-Of-Sale System, in line with FIVE's First-in-Class service standards.
  • Maintains an extensive knowledge of our Premium Beverage Menus, including Ingredients, Flavours, and Preparation Methods, staying updated on industry-leading Trends and boundary-breaking Developments.
  • Ensures the bar area exudes Luxury, consistently maintaining a lavishly Decorated and Organised Space, always stocked with appropriate Supplies, Garnishes, and Glassware.
  • Employs strategic and effective Inventory Management Techniques, including meticulous tracking of Usage, proactive Reordering of Supplies, and conducting regular Stock Checks, ensuring uninterrupted service excellence.
  • Adheres rigorously to all Health and Safety Regulations, upholding the FIVE commitment to maintaining a Clean, Sanitary Environment, and Responsibly Handling Beverages.
  • Fosters seamless collaboration with our FIVE Tribe, including Servers, Chefs, and Management, to ensure a buzzing, Next-Level service experience where issues are addressed promptly and the ‘Vibe at FIVE’ is always buzzing.
  • Immerses themselves in the FIVE Journey, actively participating in Training Sessions, Workshops, and Team Meetings, elevating skills and knowledge to contribute to the Boundary-Breaking Culture at FIVE.

Mixology Skills

  1. Drink Preparation: Mastering a variety of cocktails and mixed drinks, including classic recipes and modern creations.
  2. Ingredient Knowledge: Understanding the flavors and characteristics of different spirits, liqueurs, and mixers.

Customer Service Skills

  1. Friendly Interaction: Creating a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with customers and building rapport.
  2. Listening Skills: Attending to customer preferences and offering recommendations based on their tastes.

Multitasking

  1. Handling Multiple Orders: Managing several drink orders simultaneously, especially during busy periods.
  2. Prioritizing Tasks: Balancing drink preparation, serving, and cleaning duties efficiently.

Attention to Detail

  1. Order Accuracy: Ensuring that drinks are made as requested and served correctly.
  2. Presentation: Paying attention to the visual appeal of drinks, including garnishes and glassware.

Knowledge of Bar Operations

  1. Menu Familiarity: Knowing the drink menu, including specials and seasonal offerings.
  2. Bar Equipment: Understanding how to use and maintain bar tools and equipment, such as shakers, blenders, and taps.

Sales Skills

  1. Upselling: Promoting premium brands, special cocktails, or food pairings to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
  2. Promotional Knowledge: Being aware of ongoing promotions and specials to inform customers.

Cleanliness and Hygiene

  1. Sanitation Practices: Adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean workspace and properly sanitized glassware.
  2. Bar Maintenance: Keeping the bar area organized and stocked, including inventory management.

  1. Conflict Resolution: Handling customer complaints or disputes with professionalism and calmness.
  2. Adaptability: Adjusting to unexpected situations, such as large parties or changes in drink orders.

  1. On Your Feet: Being able to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of a busy bar environment.
