Barista

• Engage with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and address any issues promptly
• Present menus and provide detailed information on menu items, making recommendations upon request
• Inform customers of daily specials and describe how menu items are prepared, including ingredients and cooking methods
• Escort customers to their tables and provide local area information, including directions if needed
• Accurately take food and beverage orders, either by writing on order slips, memorizing orders, or entering orders into a computer system
• Serve food and beverages, including specialty dishes, to tables as required
• Perform food preparation tasks, such as preparing salads, appetizers, cold dishes, and brewing coffee
• Ensure all plates and orders are accurate before serving them to customers
• Collect payments from customers
• Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining
• Set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
• Assist the host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests
