Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost components, including labor, materials, equipment, and time requirements.
• Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
• Utilize estimating software to calculate, maintain and track all project estimates.
• Prepare and submit bids using the "Bid to Win" process, ensuring that bids are competitive, accurate and submitted on time.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide cost data regarding project feasibility.
• Conduct post-bid analysis and review to compare actual project costs with estimated costs, identify variances and implement improvements in estimating practices.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, material costs, and competitive pricing to ensure the company's profitability and competitiveness.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of up-to-date cost information to support accurate estimating.
• Participate in presentations to clients and stakeholders as needed.
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proficient in project estimation and "Bid to Win" processes.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Proficiency in using estimating software and technology.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Knowledge of local construction market, including pricing conventions and trends.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and logically.
• A proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
