Job Description

The Payroll Officer is responsible for managing the payroll process for the company. This includes ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Processing:
  • Accurately process payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.
  • Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  1. Records Management:
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, time and attendance, and payroll changes.
  • Ensure all payroll information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and summaries related to payroll activities.
  1. Compliance:
  • Stay informed of changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with audits and inquiries related to payroll.
  1. Employee Support:
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Provide support and information to employees on payroll-related matters.
  1. Coordination:
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and agencies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk, or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of payroll principles and practices.
  • Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional).
  • Experience with [specific payroll software, if applicable].
